Experience spectacular views and sights of the Pureora Forest along the 85km long Timber Trail. Venturing through the middle of the North Island, The Timber Trail follows a collection of old tram lines and travels over large suspension bridges between the relatively rough terrain. A journey to experience on your own if you're relatively fit and self-reliant as parts of the trail are remote and secluded, or ou can embark on the journey with an experienced and local guide.
There are a number of starting points to the trail, riders can choose to start from around Te Kuiti, Ongarue or from the Piropiro campsite for day riders. This multi-day journey offers guests the chance to spend the night at various campsites and lodges along the trail or if you aren't looking to commit that much time you can embark on a half or day journey from the middle of the trail.
