Get an island escape from Brisbane on this great value day tour to Moreton Island just off the coast where you'll see marine life as you snorkel from this island paradise near QLD's capital. This popular South East QLD getaway spot is teeming with fish as well as its iconic Tangalooma Shipwrecks which provide some great snorkelling opportunities just off shore, and on this day tour, you'll be taken from your Brisbane accommodation to explore its beauty. Cruise across the waters of lovely Moreton Bay - keeping an eye out for dolphins and other marine creatures along the way - on board a spacious and modern vessel with air-conditioning and on-board cafe and bar facilities, and soak in the sunshine.

Once arriving at Moreton Island, you'll be able to spend your time as you see fit; laze on the perfect sand, take part in a guided snorkelling tour of the shipwrecks (with all gear supplied), take a paddle in a see-through kayak or bodyboard and gaze down at the various fish below, and much more. This area is renowned for its combination of coral, lovely reef fish, and even sea turtles, so you'll be able to have some true up-close encounters that will be sure to make your day. On shore, you can slide down the massive sand dunes for some tobogganing, or join in an off road 4WD adventure and travel to the desert portions of Moreton Island.

Tours depart six days a week (except Wednesdays) from the Brisbane Transit Centre on Roma Street, however, you are given the option of a hotel transfer to make travelling to and from the departure point easy and convenient. Definitely recommend! The fish was amazing and snorkelling the wreck was awesome. Crystal clear water and great guides. All the staff were friendly and passionate. The 4WD 'rollercoaster' was a highlight too! Would suggest bringing goggles for the sand boarding though.

Well worth it
Emma Richardson 2 months ago

Well worth it, we would not have been able to do these things ourselves. The guides were really enthusiastic and friendly. We were pleasantly surprised by lunch, as it was better than expected. The trip was well organised. The reefs were very cool and there were more fish than we thought there'd be.

This was a great day and I highly recommend it if you’re in Brisbane

This was a great day and I highly recommend it if you’re in Brisbane! The island is beautiful! The water is so clear and the snorkelling is amazing - so many fish! The lunch was lovely and so were the staff. They made you feel very safe and made it a fun day out. The sand tobogganing was hilarious but unfortunately, we were running out of time to relax on the beach or swim. So it was a sandy journey home - maybe if the sand tobogganing was at the beginning as it would have been nice to rinse off after it. Its a jam packed day but so much fun.

The trip started early in the morning with a bus from Brisbane to the port
Markus Lamberz 6 months ago

The trip started early in the morning with a bus from Brisbane to the port. With the ferry to moreton Island. The activities (sanboarding, snorkeling and kayaking) were fine, but we were always a little bit urged to hurry. Nonetheless it was a good experience. If possible better go for 2 days...

Top staff

Top staff, nothing too hard for them, great activities where we snorkelled with Wobegong shark, sea turtle, moray eel plus many many more fish up close. They supervised us at all times from a distance that gave us our space but kept us safe. The 4wd bus driver was a great conversationalist and very good at getting everyone sand surfing. The bus driver that picked us up and dropped us off from Brisbane was a terrific driver. At no times during the driving or water activities did I see a nautious person. Well done to the whole staff and I thoroughly recommend them

Had such a great day on 11/12/18 trip from Brisbane

Had such a great day on 11/12/18 trip from Brisbane. Sandboarding was a great new experience to tick off and kayaking through the shipwrecks was so much fun. Lunch provided was great and filling and plenty of water for everyone. Kayaking/snorkelling point right near the toilets so no stress there and a easy ferry ride over with snacks and drinks available. Saw loads of fish snorkelling which was fun and the staff were fantastic! Even when some of the people on the tour didn’t listen to instructions they remained professional and still helped everyone out which must have took some effort! 100% recommend the experience especially as an escape from city life in Brisbane!

Booking was very easy to do
Cami 12 months ago

Booking was very easy to do, they even send me a reminder e-mail. I had such a lovely day at Moreton Island! The morning was a bit cold, but just as you get into the water for snorkelling, you forget about the cold. You have the time to do all of the activities, snorkelling, kayaking and sand-boarding. The picnic lunch was also good. The staff was very friendly and were always worried if you were okay on the water. They make you feel safe at every moment. It is a tour that swimmers and non-swimmers can do! I had such a great day! I totally recommend this tour!

We did a 1 day Moreton Island tour
Chiara 1 year ago

We did a 1 day Moreton Island tour. It was a beautiful day (weatherwise as tour-wise). We did sandboarding first. The bus ride was an adventure that Bones (the driver) made even more fun. After that, we had fresh and yummy lunch - good choice for hot weather! Next thing to do was transparent kayaking with Willem and Commander. They were both really funny blokes and they explained a lot about the fish as well. It's a shame we had a very slow group which shortened the time in the water. Another thing I would like to suggest is if u have people that are experienced in snorkelling let them go a little off the group as well so that they can enjoy it more. All in all amazing day we didn't want to leave!!! Beautiful island and lovely staff!

It is such an enjoyable experience with an experienced tour guide

It is such an enjoyable experience with an experienced tour guide. We have a great time in snorkelling though it is unfortunate to see no turtle. For the kayaking experience, it is not as clear to see the water bottom as I thought. It is really exciting to have the sand boarding here. Highly recommended!

Fantastic day
Samantha Tempest 1 year ago

Fantastic day, great knowledgable guides and it was non stop fun from beginning to end. I was a middle-aged lady travelling on my own and I was really welcomed and included. Sand tobogganing was fun although the hot weather made me glad we weren’t there for too long. The snorkelling was amazing and the kayaking was a great way to end the day. Highly recommend!
